Corbin Building, NYC MTA, New York City

When the New York City MTA renovated the Corbin building, 100’s of castings that trimmed the window bays needed to be replaced. Richmond Iron made over 80 unique foundry patterns for historically accurate reproduction of cast iron elements including window mullions, stair case railings and fireplaces to completely restore the Corbin building to its former glory. Foundry pattern makers at Richmond Iron used advanced traditional foundry molding techniques to pull molds from original castings and make accurate foundry patterns to re-cast missing elements indistinguishable from original castings once installed.
